My Story from Last Night...

Alright, so its Halloween and I went to a costume party at a club last night. The night was going pretty well. Chillin and dancin'. But then the DJ played Crookers remix of Day N' Night. I went fuckin' nuts. I must say that most places I have been before have not played good music... but last night that DJ hooked it up!

KiD CuDi Featured in Four Songs on DJ-EV's Latest Mixtape

DJ-EV just dropped his heavily anticipated mixtape "I Run Ohio. As you may know DJ-EV was the one who leaked the "Paper Planes Freestyle" from KiD CuDi a while ago. KiD CuDi can be found on this mixtape on tracks 7. Kid Cudi - Embrace The Martian (Round Table Knights/E-V Remix) 8. Kid Cudi - Day N Nite (Crookers Remix) 17. Chip Tha Ripper feat. Kid Cudi - Ask About Me (Rami Remix) 25. Kid Cudi - Paper Plane Freestyle

I downloaded this last night, and I must say I pretty pleased with it. DJ-EV is doing his thing and he is doing it well. There are a lot of other great tracks and remixes other than just the KiD CuDi ones.

KiD CuDi casted on new HBO show.

A new show from the Mark Whalberg production company that produces the hit TV show "Entourage" is making a new show titled "How To Make It." There are not many details as of yet but the most interesting thing for me is that KiD CuDi will be apart of the cast. I think this is an interesting career move, and I can't wait to see the show. Let me know what you guys think in the comments.

Samples from "A Kid Named CuDi"

Alright so we all know that hip hop producers sample, and that is what makes the art great. I am not here to say that using samples is not creative, in fact I personally believe that it is an art within itself to chop up a sample to make it your own. Anyways, this post is to inform you of samples that KiD CuDi used on his mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi"

Kid CuDi - Maui Wowie
Sample:Grind Mode - I'm So High

Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon
Nosaj Thing - Aquarium

Kid Cudi - Cudi Spazzin
N.E.R.D. - Spaz (I know this one is obvious)

Kid Cudi - The Prayer
Band of Horses - The Funeral

Kid Cudi - Down 'N Out

Kid Cudi - 50 Ways to Make a Record
Paul Simon - 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover

Kid Cudi - Cudi Get
J Dilla - Wild (which samples the following song)
Quiet Riot -Cum on Feel the Noize (This is the original version of the song, but I feel like Cudi sampled a cover of the song)
For more info on the various covers of this song check out Wikipedia

Kid Cudi - Embrace The Martian
Crookers - Embrace The Martian (Not a sample but just a note that Cudi was feartured on the Crookers Mad Kidz EP which can be bought at amazon)

Kid Cudi - Save My Soul (The CuDi Confession)
Gnarls Barkey - Who's Gonna Save my Soul?

Cudi still on 808's and Heartbreak?

In a recent interview with URB magazine KiD CuDi stated that he was in Hawaii working on 808's and Heartbreak with Kanye West. He mentioned that he was going to be featured in two songs on the album. However, since last nights blog buzz about the Kanye West listening event (which by the way sounded incredible) none of the blogs have mentioned anything about Cudi being on the album which has left many people wondering if CuDi is still on the album or are there some unreleased tracks that we may never hear. I guess we'll just have to wait and see when 808's and Heartbreak comes out.

Here is the original interview:
Here is MTV's take on the upcoming album:

DJ Fergie Ferg in the Mix---preview of things to come

Alright so I thought I would leave you guys with a little teaser of another mashup to come. It doesn't directly feature KiD CuDi, but it uses a song that he sampled from his mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi." The song it samples is Nosaj Thing - Aquarium and it is used in the song "Man On The Moon." If you haven't heard either of those songs then here they are plus the Aqaurium music video is simply amazing.

Here is the Music Video:

Here is the KiD CuDi Song: "Man on the Moon"

KiD CuDi and 88-Keys performance from October 14th

Here is a performance from monday night at a Hot 97 event in NY at SOB's. Sound like it is the song that is gonna be on 88-Keys latest album "The Death of Adam." The song is titled "Ho' is Short for Honey" and is track number 11 on the album coming out October 28th. This sounds really dope with CuDi on the hook. Let me know what yall think.

Robin Thicke - Wanna Love You Girl (Remix) Ft. KiD CuDi

So I went on to youtube with the goal of finding the oldest video of KiD CuDi that I could find. In hopes of finding some exclusive old stuff.  And as a matter of fact I did. Here is a remix of Wanna Love You Girl by Robin Thicke featuring KiD CuDi. This dates all the way back to March of 2006. (I think it is the oldest video on there). If anyone happens to have the mp3 version of this it would be amazing. Hope you guys enjoy!

KiD CuDi to be featured on upcoming Naledge mixtape

According an interview conducted by HipHopDx.com, Kidz in the Hall member, Naledge, is releasing a solo project. He will be coming out with a mixtape this January titled "The Chicago Picasso." On the mixtape he already has features from KiD CuDi, Rhymefest, GLC, and Kid Sister. This sounds like it is shaping up to be a pretty good mixtape so I will be keeping my eye on this one.

Alright so I decided that I am gonna start a new part of the blog where I post songs that I think KiD CuDi should rap/sing over. Its is going to be a wide variety of genres, so I hope you guys enjoy it and maybe learn about some new songs that you have not heard before. And if you are personally a rapper and want to take a shot at rapping over some of these songs I'd love to hear how you guys do.

So without further or do here is the first song in the recurring blog post "Song for KiD CuDi to rap over."

Day 'N Night Blend Remix- from DJ EMI

Kid Cudi Feat Jim Jones, Harlems Cash, & Fashawn - Day N Nite (DJ EMI Remix)

Alright people right here we have a blended remix from DJ EMI. I must say that I am very impressed with the two other artists who spit over this, Harlems Cash and Fashawn. Also Mad props to DJ EMI for making this flow well. I have listened to a lot of blends that are just put together very poorly. EMI on the other hand did a nice job. Keep a look out for Harlems Cash and Fashawn, sounds like they both got some skills.

Jim Jones spits over Day 'N Night

Jim Jones taking his turn rapping/singing over KiD CuDi's most famous song Day 'N Night. He uses the same flow that Cudi uses on the track, but he adds a slightly more whiny tone to it. Personally, I am not a big fan of this version of the song. But its up to you to choose of how you thought Jones performed.

Enjoy
